Wk 07 – Dreams

May 11, 2009

I do not know my biggest dreams. I am not a “dreamer” per say, but more of a goal driven person. Therefore, the following is a list of goals that I will accomplish before I die.

– Vacation and travel throughout Europe
– Take a Medeteranian Cruise
– Visit the Arctic Cirlce
– Visit Antarctica
– Visit South America (So that I will have visited every Continent)
– Golf at 5 of the 10 top public courses in The US and Europe
– Get Married
– Have Children
– Buy a home

There are probably more things on my To-Do List, but that is definitely enough to start with. The one I will be focusing on for this financial analysis project will be the getting married goal, because my wedding is on June 20th of this year.

Wk 4 – Librarian Meeting – Postponed

April 26, 2009

Unfortunately I had to take the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam this weekend.  I spent eigt hours split into two four hour long sessions testing everything I’ve learned since beginning at Oregon State.  Needless to say, I’ve spent countless hours studying, and this last week was spent doing nothing but studying for this weekends test.  So, I did not read the requirements to meet with a librarian until today, Sunday.

I will definately meet with a librarian early this week, and update my week 4 blog.

Wk 3 – Mary Anderson – Windshield Wipers

April 26, 2009

My culture site will feature Mary Anderson.  It is hard to find information on Mary Anderson.  In 1904 she applied for a patent for a mechanical device with a rubber blade to wipe dirt, debris, and moisture from the windshield of an automobile.  That’s right, Mary Anderson invented the windshield wiper.

Wk 03 – No real issues

April 15, 2009

I haven’t really had any issues this week.  I think I finally picked a category for my cultural site project, but information is limited on the person of interest, so I might have to delve into the history and effects of what she invented.

Wk 02 – Becoming Familiar

April 9, 2009

Well, last week I fell behind a little bit, and didn’t read what to do about the blog requirements very well.  This week, I have set everything up, explored many of the options available to me, and I now feel pretty confident that I can do whatever I need to on this site.

2.2 – Teach

April 8, 2009

Through past experiences, I’ve realized that teaching others actually helps me learn better.  Therefore, because I am just learning how to weld, my initial idea for this project will project will be to teach how to use an Arc Welder, or an Oxy-Acetylene welder, or something else I myself have to learn.

2.2 – Financial Analysis

April 8, 2009

I suspect this project will be easier for me than the other projects.  I will be getting married in June, so I will either work on my budget for the wedding or the honeymoon.  Although, if I can think of something else, I have not excluded completely changing my initial ideas.

2.2 – Cultural Site

April 8, 2009

Initially, I have no idea what to do for this project.  I believe I would like to research a rudimentary technology which is very widely used.  But like I said before I have no clue as about the specifics thus far.  Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Setup Experience

April 8, 2009

The setup of the Blog was fairly quick and simple. Anyone with a little bit of computer experience should not have much difficulty.
